Director horticulture takes stock of progress off Centre for Horticulture Development at Rajbagh

SRINAGAR: Director Horticulture Kashmir Ajaz Ahmad Bhat, on Friday visited Advanced Centre for Horticulture Development Rajbagh Farm. Various developmental programmes which were taken in hand were discussed on spot about the progress of hi-tech green house, demonstration of super high density in respect of apple and pear etc. Besides this, the accreditation of Quality Control Pesticide Laboratory was taken up with the concerned officers. Director Horticulture instructed speed up accreditation process, so that the facility established is made functional for testing the chemical pesticides at an earliest. Further during an interaction with the Analyst, Soil Leaf Analysis Laboratory, Director Horticulture was informed that the soil testing and development of Soil Health Cards for the benefit of fruit growers has been taken as a priority so that the recommendations are made to the growers as per precise application for the production of quality fruit crops. Analyst Soil Leaf Analysis laboratory was asked to prepare the DPRs for establishment of Soil Testing Laboratories proposed to be established in all districts for testing soil samples at the doorsteps of growers for efficient use of recommended nutrients in the soil. I/C Pesticide Laboratory was asked to prepare DPRS for establishment of Pesticide Testing Laboraoty proposed to be established in North as well in South Kashmir, so as to provide the pesticide testing facility to the growers in the respective areas indigenously .
