Pampore: Government Degree College Pampore kick-started its sports festival with a cricket game here at college’s sports ground.
The curtain raiser game was played between staff and student teams in Cricket Rolling Trophy.
College principal Dr Seema Naaz inaugrated the sports festival. The game was flagged off by college Batting first after winning the toss, Warriors XI put a decent total of 235 on the board in their alloted 20 overs. Arif Rashid was the main contributor to the score board by smashing a well deserved century. In reply, Saffron had a great start but couldn’t keep the momentum, falling short by 25 runs in the end. Arif Rashid walked away with man of the match award for his match winning ton.
Principal College stated that sports events will be organized to boost the physical and mental fitness of the students.
Meanwhile, the students hailed the principal for her selfless and dynamic leadership in providing them the opportunities in every walk of the life.
