KATHUA: A training programme on Public Finance Management System (PFMS) was Wednesday held for officers and executing agencies associated with the implementation of Border Area Development Programme (BADP).
The Training programme was held under the aegis of PFMS UT Directorate, J&K, Office of the Controller General of the Accounts, Ministry of Finance, Govt. of India and Co-ordinated by Chief Planning Officer, Kathua Uttam Singh.
The resource persons Nodal Officer, PFMS Vinay Dhar and Operational Manager Rohit Tickoo imparted the training.
The training session was attended by the officers of different implementing agencies of the Centrally Sponsored Border Area Development Programme (BADP) in the district.
Among others, participants included Assistant Commissioner Development, Kathua, District Soil Conservation Officer, Kathua, Executive Engineers of JPDCL, Irrigation, PHE, PWD and Block Development Officers.
The session was held on registration of agencies, operationalization and transfer of funds through PFMS Mode. It was apprised that PFMS has been made mandatory for central schemes and the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India has made it obligatory to put BADP on PFMS Platform. A District Level PFMS Unit has also been established in DC Office, Kathua for necessary technical assistance and handholding support for the smooth implementation of various Central Schemes ensuring transparency and accountability.
