U-16 Football tournament concludes at B’la

SRINAGAR: Social Welfare Football Club Ushukra beat State Football Academy Khawaja Bagh in the final’s of ‘DC Cup U-16 Football Tournament’ played at Sher-e-Khaas Baramulla
Deputy Commissioner Dr G N Itoo as the Chief Guest and SSP Baramulla, Abdul Quyoom as Guest of Honour at the event.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC complimented the participants and said that such events enable our youth to channelize their potential in a positive direction. He said that sports activities have a profound and significant impact on the social and mental development of our youth. Reiterating upon the administration’s commitment of developing sports infrastructure, DC said that various sports activities are being organized across the length and breadth of the district with an aim to inculcate the sports passion among our youth.
He also announced Rs 10,000 cash prize among the Winners and Rs 5000 among the runner up team.
A week long tournament was organised by the District Youth Services and Sports Department in collaboration with Sheikh ul Alam Sports association Baramulla in which over 16 teams participated.
