SRINAGAR: Police on Monday foiled a protest demonstration of Jammu and Kashmir Civil Society Forum under the leadership of Qayoom Wani who had organised a protest at press enclave against new land law that was recently amendment by the Government of India and detained few leaders along with former PDP leader Qayoom Wani.
They were also chanting the slogans “Demographic change not acceptable”
While talking to the reporters before his detention Qayoom Wani said that the implementation of the new land laws that allows the non state subject actors to buy the land in Jammu and Kashmir is totally unacceptable.
“The implementation of land law will destroy the culture, identity and resources of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh and the Central government should revoke the new land law which have been implemented by the Government of India,” Wani said.
Wani said that the Government has puts curbs on our freedom of expression.
