SRINAGAR: Director Horticulture Kashmir Ajaz Ahmad Bhat, today inaugurated Grading Line under Private sector near Fruit and Vegetable Mandi Pachhar.
During the interaction with the fruit growers, he advised the farmers to ensure proper grading of their produce to fetch remunerative prices. He also laid stress upon the farming community and the Entrepreneurs for establishment of such grading lines which will ensure proper standard of apple produce and will fetch better returns to the farming community while marketing their produce.
He informed that in order to provide grading facilities to the fruit growers, the Government will incentivize the establishment of grading lines in future.
The Director was accompanied by officers of the Horticulture Department, Entrepreneurs and other stakeholders.
Later, the Director visited Fruit and Vegetable Mandi Arhama Shopian in connection with procurement of Apple under Market Intervention Scheme.
Director highlighted the benefits of the scheme and encouraged the growers to avail benefits under such schemes to get remunerative prices for their produce.
He was accompanied by Chief Horticulture officer, Area Marketing officer and President Fruit Association Shopian.
