Cycling marathon, ‘Pedal -4- Saffron’ held at Pampore

PAMPORE: Annual cycling marathon, “pedal 4 saffron” was held on Saturday at Saffron town of Pampore in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
The 10 kilometer long marathon event was organised by a non-government organisation “Pampore Eco-watch”
The cycle marathon was flagged from India International Kashmir Saffron Trade Centre (IIKSTC) in Dusso. The event was taken go green Pampore initiative,” Nadeem Qadri, Founder and CEO of Pampore Eco-Watch told Kashmir Reader
“The aim is how we can save world famous saffron which is grown in Pampore and we wish more and more people should get associated with us and help us in preserving wild-life and forests,” he said.
Pampore Eco-Watch a volunteering non-profit organisation working for the conservation of environment, wildlife and forests successfully conducted its annual cycling marathon under the banner Pedal 4 Saffron which focused on the conservation of Saffron and awereness among youngesters , which is in the verge of extinction , in its long term program i.e, Go Green Pampore supported by Earth Day Network
Deputy Director Dr. Ansar Ali (Spice Board of India), Waheed Ur Rahmaan (Administrator IIKSTC Dusoo), Hashim Zakir Chief Coordinator Pampore Eco watch, Saffron growers association president Abdul Majeed Wani, health department Pampore and J&K Eco-watch were present on the occassion.
