Contractual lecturers hold protest, seek regularisation

SRINAGAR: All Jammu and Kashmir 10 + 2 contractuallecturers union on Friday held a protest demonstration here in Srinagar demanding the regularisation of their services.
The 10 + 2 lecturers lectures from various districts of the Kashmir valley assembled here in press enclave and chanting the slogans “we want justice”, “we want regularisation,” “solve long pending issues,” and “Justice awaited”.
The protesting lecturers said that they are working in the education department as contractual lecturers but the government is not regularising our services in the department.
Gurjeet Singh president of the All Jammu and Kashmir + 2 lecturers union said that we are continuously doing our protest across Jammu and Kashmir as we demand the regularisation of our services in the department as per the order which has been issued during our recruitment time.
” As per the order 1301-edu framed by the government in which it was clearly mentioned that the lecturers appointed on academic arrangements against this order will be regularised after 3 years,” Singh said.
Singh said that this order was modified and was included in the contractual rules, but we did not get any benefits as per the order which had been framed by the government during the recruitment time.
“Now we have expectations upon the central government who have recently passed an order in which the central government is asking the details of the contractual and consolidated employees. The government should forward our details of the 10+2 lecturers to the central government . So, our services will get regularised in the department,” Singh added.
