JAMMU: A WEBINAR cum Training Programme was organized by District Industries Centre, Kathua in collaboration with the GeM, Ministry of Commerce, Government of India for registration on GeM portal, here at conference hall DC Office Kathua.
The event was held on the directions of Commissioner / Secretary Industries & Commerce, Manoj Kumar Dwivedi and overall supervision of Director Industries & Commerce, Jammu, Anoo Malhotra
While welcoming all the participants, General Manager, DIC Kathua, Babu Ram apprised that it is now mandatory for Government Departments to make all purchases through the GeM portal. Similarly, MSME Sector also requires registration on GeM to sell their products to Government Departments, he added. The portal is transparent and payments shall be made to sellers in stipulated time period. Sellers can join in any bidding all over the country on competitive rates and can explore the market on PAN India. He also emphasized on the Industrial Associations to come forward and motivate their associate MSME members to join GeM.
