LMD slaps Rs 10,000 fine on petrol pump dealer at Budgam

BUDGAM: A team of the Legal Metrology Department (LMD)today slapped a fine of Rs. 10,000 on a petrol pump for dropping and filling less fuel through one of its four nozzles.
Acting on specific information, a team of the Legal Metrology Department during a surprise raid today found one petrol pump dealer located at Mochuv Kralpora Budgam involved in using malfunctioning nozzles for filling fuel to the vehicles.
During the checking of fuel delivery to the vehicles it was found that one nozzle used by the concerned dealer was dropping and filling less fuel, taking strong notice of the malpractice the team on spot slapped fine on the offender and subsequently the offender was warned to refrain from such wrongful practices.
The malfunctioning nozzle was on spot sealed and abandoned from use, in addition the concerned manager was directed that unless and until he shall recalibrate and rectify the error, the delivery from this nozzle will remain suspended, he will also had to obtain proper permission from the concerned authority for continuing operations from this nozzle in future.
