Martial art players demand Indoor stadium in Pampore

Pampore: The martial art players from Saffron town Pampore in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district have demanded authorities for an Indoor stadium.
Pampore that has produced a good number of States, national level martial art players Pampore should have an indoor stadium, which will fulfil players’ ambitions and fine-tune their skills.
However, players and game enthusiastic rue lack of infrastructure and practicing facilities the game.
Professional martial art coach Sajad Ahmad Bhat said “We don’t have facility of an Indoor stadium here,” he said, adding that as winter is approaching they have to face problems due to cold.
Bhat said despite having no indoor Stadium players from Pampore have proved their mettle at various levels.
“Due to cold and snow, our kids will be unable to practice outside which will impact their performance in upcoming events at state and national level,” he said.
He appealed authorities for providing them facility for Indoor stadium so that they can continue practicing during winters.
When contacted Tehsildar Pampore, Ishtiyaq Mohi-ud-Din said that they have identified land for an Indoor stadium.
“The association should apply through proper channel,” he said.
