Pampore hit-and-run case: Police file chargesheet

Pampore: Police on Wednesday presented a chargesheet in the court of Judicial Magistrate Pamporehere in the case of killing of two Pampore girls in a road accident two months ago near the saffron field Tulbagh Pampore.
In the first week of August, an Alto car vehicle bearing registration number JK13F-0346 which was being driven by one Talha Nisar Busoo resident of Sheikh-ul-Alam Colony Pampore while going from Konibal towards Pampore hit three minor girls who were walking on the side of road. The said driver flew from the spot who was later on apprehended and vehicle seized.
Police said that during their course of investigation it convincingly came to fore that the driver/accused was driving the vehicle so rashly and negligently that a man of ordinary prudence could have presumed that out of his said act anybody could have become victim of his rash driving.
One of the minor victims namely Nazila Rafiq resident of Tulbagh Pampore died on spot and another girl namely Tabina Nazir resident of Namblabal Pampore succumbed to her injuries at SMHS Hospital Srinagar, a police official has said.
During the course of investigation it was also found that the above named driver/accused was not holding the valid driving license and the owner of the vehicle namely Asif Hassan Shah resident of Noorani Colony Pampore had illegally allowed the said accused to drive the aforesaid vehicle. On the basis of evidence collected, offences punishable under sections 304 part 2nd ,279,308 IPC and 3/181 M.V Act were made out against the accused and owner of the vehicle was also booked in the case under the appropriate provision of law for allowing illegal use of his vehicle by accused who was not holding a valid driving license.
The above named accused/driver who was arrested on 04 August is still under custody in relation to the said case, police said.
Meanwhile the parents of the deceased girls have appreciated the role of police and are hopeful that judicary on fast track basis will deliver sppedy justice to the aggrieved.
