Interactive program on “Business Opportunities in Agriculture” held at Agriculture Complex Lalmandi

Baramulla: There is a need to bring about transformational changes in agriculture sector by making farmers change their outlook towards farming, they need to consider their farms as their businesses. These views were expressed by Director Agriculture Kashmir Altaf Aijaz Andrabi while giving a lecture to unemployed educated youth of Kuchwa Muqam District Baramulla during an interactive program on “Business Opportunities in Agriculture” held at Agriculture Complex Lalmandi today.
On the occasion director said that entrepreneurship must be encouraged in agriculture as innovation which would not just help farmers to improve crop productivity and thus more profit, but will create more and more employment avenues for rural youth as well.
Andrabi stressed upon the participants to use their educational skills to get updated about the latest agricultural practices to compete at national as well as international level. He impressed upon the youth to create FPO’s and get benefited from different farmer welfare schemes which has been devised for the welfare of framing community. He asked them to create the brand of agriculture produce at local level and showcase the product at different platforms to get maximum rewards.
Participating youth presented a memorandum of various issues before the director, after giving the patient hearing director assured them that the genuine issues will be addressed at an earliest.
Joint Director Agriculture Inputs Amir –Ud- Din Andrabi, Project Coordinator Mushroom Farooq Ahmad Shah, Deputy Director Agriculture Central Syed Waseem Ahmad Shah were also present.
