Fire victims appeal Srinagar admin for compensation, building permission

SRINAGAR: The fire victims of the Khalash pora Baba Demb Srinagar whose house and band saw mill was gutted due to fire incident in the Sunday night appealed the district administration Srinagar to provide them compensation and permission so they can start the construction work of their gutted house.
The fire incident which took place in the area have partially damaged one storey of the house, another three storey building, and saw mill and it’s accessories.
The house belonged to Jahangeeer Rasool Bhat and the band saw mill belonged to the Ghulam Rasool Bhat resident of the Khalash pora Baba Demb Srinagar another one storey building that was partially gutted belongs to Abdul Rashid Rather.
Jahangeeer said that the fire erupted in the area nearly 8:30 pm and was brought under control 3:50 am resulting in complete damage to three storey building, band saw mill and timber and other one storey building have been partially damaged in the fire incident.
” The cause of the fire incident is short circuit. The concerned police officials have also visited the spot and have collected the report of the fire incident,” he added.
“Due to the fire incident, we have lost our earnings and house,” Bhat said.
While seeking help from the District administration Srinagar Bhat, he said they are appealing the district administration to provide them compensation so that they can start their band saw mill and building permission for construction of the house.
