Srinagar: Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology, Kashmir Tuesday commenced a four-day workshop on ‘Distance Teaching Through Online Tolls’ for the teachers and students of the university.
The workshop is organised by the university’s College of Temperate Sericulture, Mirgund in collaboration with World Bank-ICAR funded National Agricultural Higher Education Project (NAHEP).
The training focuses on teaching educators and students about using various online platforms for teaching and learning. This is hands-on virtual training wherein the concept and its usage would be taught step by step to enable teachers and students to continue education in this new way of challenging academic atmosphere thrown by the COVID19 pandemic.
Associate Dean, COTS, Mirgund, Prof MF Baqual while welcoming the participants and experts, expressed his gratitude to Vice Chancellor, Prof Nazeer Ahmad and Director Planning and Monitoring, Prof Nazir Ah Ganie, for promoting the teaching and research programmes of the university through NAHEP and taking keen interest in student related programmes.
Prof Nazir Ahmad Gania, Director Planning and Monitoring, and coordinator NAHEP, complimented the organisers and the Associate Dean, Prof Baqual for conducting such need based training programs.
Vice Chancellor Prof Nazeer Ahmed who was the chief guest on the inaugural function emphasized the need of such virtual programmes and desired that comprehensive assessment should be made on pre and post sessions of the programme which will finally enable the university to have an idea about the impact of such progammes as a whole.
More than 100 participants, including faculty members, researchers, scientists and students, from across the country are participating in the workshop.
