ANANTNAG: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Anantnag, K.K.Sidha Tuesday convened a meeting of Revenue, Horticulture and JKHMPC officers for establishment of temporary Fruit Mandi at Nanil on private land.
He asked the concerned Tehsildar to submit the title and status of the identified 07 Kanals of land to facilitate fruit growers for selling their apple crop at reasonable rates to avoid brokering.
The DDC instructed JKHMPC to provide possible support to the growers for selling their crop without brokers and to get the maximum price of their produce.
He also directed the officers to disallow any sort of construction on the said land as the fruit Mandi will be purely set up on a temporary basis as the Jablipora Fruit Mandi is being completed this year for which funds have already been released and the work is going on war footing.
Among others the meeting was attended by ADC, Ghulam Hassan Sheikh, Chief Horticulture Officer, AMO, JKHMPCC and Tehsildar Bijbehara.
