SRINAGAR: Director Horticulture Kashmir Visits Shopian, passes Direction to Horticulture Field staff aware public for scientific and proper method for harvesting fruit
In a statement issued by the department , it said that given the Harvest season of Horticulture crops are very close and director Horticulture Kashmir Ajaz Ahmad Bhat advocated for proper scientific methods of harvest.
Director Horticulture during his visit to Shopian said that the professional way of harvesting has a direct impact on next year’s crop. So professional harvesting is important and while, harvesting every fruit has to take proper sense not to destroy buds of other plants. Further he passes direction to field staff that they need to aware the public regarding advanced scientific harvesting. So that the future crops may not get affected.
He also visited Haripora ImamSahib Fruit Nursery and took stock of Root stock of apple and other fruits. He also took situations regarding procurement of apples and other fruits. He interacted with fruit growers and discussed various issues. He advised the farmers to ensure proper grading of their produce to fetch remunerative prices.
The farmers put forth various issues before the Director and urged for their immediate redressal. He assured to examine and addressing all the genuine issues on priority
