50,000 litres of illegally dumped kerosene oil seized in Pampore village

PAMPORE: Days after recovering 1.5 lakh liters of illegally dumped kerosene oil, Tehsildar Pampore Ishtiyaq Mohi-ud-Din along with SDPO Pampore Imtiyaz Ahmad, Station House Officer Khrew Zahoor Ahmad and other officials from Food Supply on Tuesday raided a site in the Karewas of Munpora village of Pampore Tehsil and recovered fifty thousand litres of kerosene oil, where it was illegally dumped in the karewas under a steel bound wall fence.
While confirming the reports, Tehsildar Pampore Ishtiyaq Mohi-ud-Din told Kashmir Reader, that on Tuesday evening teams of revenue police and Food and civil supplies department, on a joint operation raided a site at Munpora village of Pampore Tehsil, and recoreved fifty thousand litres of kerosene, which was illegally dumped.
He further told this newspaper that the plot has been sealed and a FIR number 68/2020 was lodged in Police station Pampore, till further investigations, he added.
Meanwhile on Sunday District administration launched multiple raids in various areas of Pampore, Awantipora in Pulwama district during which around 1.5 lakh litres of illegally dumped kerosene oil was seized from different licensed kerosene oil dealers, many depots were sealed and a few arrested. The raids were carried out by a team consisting officials from revenue, police and food department led by Deputy Commissioner Pulwama, Dr Raghav Langhar, after that Deputy Commissioner Pulwama has directed Assistant Director Food and civil supplies Enayat Ahmad to lodge FIR against Tehsil Supply Officer (Kerosene) Pulwama in view of his prime facie involvement in the crime.
Meanwhile, local citizens have again hailed the district administration for taking a prompt action against black marketers and busting such kind of unholy nexus. The locals also thanked district administration for averting any mishap as the kerosene was clandestinely dumped in residential areas in tankies, tankers and balers.
