Bear mauls three women in Kangan

KANGAN: Three young woman’s were injured after attacked by a bear in Kangan area of centre Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on monday evening
Official said that the victims identified as 33 year old Shaheena Begum wife of Rayaz Ahmad Mir, 35 year old Jabeena Begum wife of Mehraj U din Rather and 19 year Nusrat Bano daughter of Nazir Ahmad Mir all residents of Wani Mohallah Kangan who were pounced upon by a wild bear in Kangan when they were working in their paddy fields near their house.
Officials said all the injured immediately were taken to Trauma Hospital Kangan for treatment where Shaheena Begum referred to SKIMS soura for advance treatment. Locals in the area told Kashmir Reader a Black Bear was roaming in Kangan area from last many days and today suddenly appeared in an orchard near River Sindh and attacked three women who were working in their orchard leaving them in a pool of Blood..
They said the bear is still in the area which poses a threat to human life.
When contacted officials of the Wildlife department they told Kashmir Reader our department has already taken cognizance of this unfortunate incident, and will do whatever necessary would be.
