Anantnag: A civilian was shot at and killed by unidentified gunmen late Saturday evening here in Pulwama district of South Kashmir.
The slain man has been identified as 40-year-old Azad Ahmad Dar of Kangan village in Pulwama.
“Not much is known about the slain as of now. Details are being ascertained,” a police official from Pulwama said.
He said that the incident took place at around 9:20 pm on Saturday . “Militants barged into his house and shot at him multiple times,”
Dar was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital where he was declared brought dead by the doctors.
“He had multiple bullet wounds,” a health official said.
The police have registered a case in this regard and investigation has been taken up.
Meanwhile, the area was cordoned off soon after the killing and a manhunt has been launched to try and nab the attackers, who fled the spot after opening fire.
