PAMPORE: Doctors at Sub district hospital Pampore condoled the sad demise of Dr Mohammad Ashraf Mir of Konibal Pampore who died of COVID-19 on Sunday.
The doctor was presently working as Senior Medical Officer at Sub District Hospital Pampore.
He had contracted the virus while on duty and was shifted to Sher-I-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) when he developed complications about 2 weeks back.
He was later admitted in the Intensive Care Unit(ICU) there as he could not maintain Oxygen saturation due to bilateral pneumonia and lost the battle of life on Sunday morning. The staff of Sub District Hospital Pampore first held a condolence meeting at SDH Pampore in presence of BMO Pampore Dr Gulzar Ahmad.
BMO Pampore told Kashmir Reader that during the meeting the sacrifice and sense of duty of Dr Mohammad Ashraf Mir was discussed.
“ Dr Mohammad Ashraf Mir was a frontline covid warrior who put duty before self,” he said, adding that his services would be remembered for his services.
The BMO said that after the meeting they visited the home of the deceased doctor and held a prayer session for him.
Meanwhile, District Health Society Pulwama on Monday convened a condolence meeting over the sad and untimely demise of Dr Mohammad Ashraf Mir who died of COVID-19. The said doctor was presently working as Senior Medical Officer at District Hospital Pulwama.
Chief Medical Officer Dr. Mir Haseena said that the untimely demise of Dr . Ashraf has shocked the medical fraternity besides leading to the loss of a devout professional and a friend. She added that the commitment of the doctor towards profession and his unrelenting efforts in COVID mitigation efforts will remain a part of our collective memory.
During the condolence meeting a two minute silence was observed by the participants and prayed for the departed soul, officials told Kashmir Reader.
Earlier another condolence meeting was held on the demise of a senior pharmacist who died of COVID in the month of July.
Meanwhile a Senior Health official said “Dr Ashraf was a front line covid warrior who contracted Covid 19 while on duty and was shifted to Sher I Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) when he developed complications about 2 weeks back.He was later on admitted in Intensive Care Unit(ICU) there as he could not maintain Oxygen saturation due to bilateral pneumonia but finally lost the battle of life on Sunday”.
The meeting was attended by Dr . Jawahara ,DHO , Dr Tehmina Dy CMO , Dr. Majid , Nodal Officer RBSK , Dr Arshad , Epidemiologist and other officials.
