KTA for allowing normal trade activity under strict SOPs

Says closing of businesses no panacea for pandemic

Srinagar: Kashmir Trade Alliance (KTA) on Sunday questioned the Administration over its complete closure of the trade activity with shutting of shops and businesses aimed to curb the spread of the Coronavirus.
President KTA Ajaz Shahdhar said that spread of the corona virus could have been prevented in this way, as people are allowed to move freely and the only sufferer being the trader whose business is closed.
He as even with total closure for 10 days in the post Eid the death toll has crossed 12 on a daily basis.
” Lockdown is a joke, people move from one place to another without interruption They can come and go, this is not a lockdown, but it is a confusing torment,” he said adding that administration should now come forward with a new plan.
He said that downing of shutters could not control the corona but it is necessary to abide by the rules issued by the SOPs of the Department of Health and other Specialists.
Shahdar advised the government to withdraw the ‘shutter down ‘order asking for ensure compliance with regulations to prevent coronavirus on the ground and mobilize government machinery and staff.
He called upon the new Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to reconsider this lockdown on business and immediately issue orders to resume business activities.
