PAMPORE: A day after being hit by speeding vehicle in saffron fields, another teenage girl who was injured on Tuesday evening succumbed to injuries at SMHS hospital in Srinagar on Wednesday morning taking the toll to two.
Tabin Nazir, daughter of Nazir Ahmad Pandit, resident of Namblabal Pampore was one among three girls who were critically injured in Tuesday’s accident.
Earlier Nazeela Rafiq, daughter of Mohammad Rafiq Bhat had succumbed on Tuesday evening, police said.
Eyewitnesses told Kashmir Reader that the girls had left their homes in order to celebrate Eid.
SHO Pampore Manzoor Ahmad told Kashmir Reader that the accident took place on Tuesday evening after a speedy car bearing registration number JK13F-0346 hit the teenage girls in the saffron fields on Pampore -Khrew road.
Police has arrested the driver after registering a case FIR 57/2020 under section 279, 337, 427 IPC registered at police station Pampore.
Meanwhile, people in Saffron town Pampore are in shock and have demanded stern action against the driver.
