SRINAGAR: Srinagar Municipal Corporation has decided to add additional streetlights in Shia dominated areas in the city , besides repairing the defunct ones. According to a statement issued by the Corporation said that in order to review the arrangements regarding functioning of street lights ahead of Muharram ul Haram , Commissioner SMC Gazanfar Ali held a meeting with the concerned engineering wing in which Joint Commissioner Works Mr Ishtiyaq Ahmed Shah was also present.
It was directed that all the Shia populated areas shall be inspected properly to see whether the street lights installed are in fully functional mode.
Ali has further instructed the concerned wing to conduct a survey of these areas and see the requirement of installing more street lights which shall be installed without any delay..
