One-day training programme of CAPD employees held in Pampore

PAMPORE: One day training programme on Purification of ration cards was organised at Townhall Pampore area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama on Saturday.
The programme, aimed at sensitizing officials of food civil supplies and consumer affairs, store keepers, officials of revenue department, village level workers and representatives of various villages, was held in town hall Pampore.
The participants were sensitized by Additional Deputy Commissioner Awantipora Zaffar Hussain Shawl and Tehsildar Pampore Ishtiyaq Mohi-ud-Din about purification cum re-verification of ration cards.
ADC Awantipora, Zaffar Hussain Shawl, said that they have directions from the government to purify ration cards. “The ration cards will be categorised afresh and they need to be
verified in the light of complaints received from time to time,” he said, adding that as per complaints, as per directions of deputy commissioner Pulwama verification committees have been set up at district, tehsil and village levels.
While sensitizing participants, Tehsildar Pampore, Ishtiyaq Mohi-ud-Din told that they receive complaints that a person is poor but he has been denied BPL ration card.
“The other complaints received include that some people have bogus ration cards, some people have multiple ration cards and like,” he said.
Besides above officers, Sakib Murtaza KAS officer ADC office, Sameer Ahmad BDO ADC office, TSO CA&PD, Shakeel Ahmad Executive officer MC Pampore, BDC Chairman Mohammad Altaf, Municipal councillor Zarina Akhtar and others were also present in the programme.
