GF held online elections for selection of development committee

GM Dar elected president for Pulwama

PULWAMA: In a bid to seek redressel of grievances of residents, Gayoor Foundation (GF)-a non-government organization- held maiden online elections for selection of district development committee for Pulwama on Tuesday.
Ghulam Mohammad Dar was unanimously elected president Gayoor Foundation (GF) Pulwama; Mudasir Ahmad Dar was elected vice president and Rashid ud Din secretary.
Dr. Bilal Ahmad Mir was elected district coordinator, Ali Mohammad Bhat joint secretary, Abdul Majeed Malik financial advisor and Ghulam Mohammad Malik spokes- person.
The elections were conducted by an election committee which was constituted for the purpose by core group members of GF and presided by Foundation’s president, Er. Syed Showkat Gayoor Andrabi.
The president congratulated newly elected body members and impressed up on them to work with dedication for development of Pulwama.
President of GF, Er. Syed Showkat Gayoor Andrabi told Kashmir Reader that the elections were held for selection of development committee for Pulwama.
He added that GF is a non- political organization working throughout Kashmir for art, culture and literature.
“We want to have a separate committee for development and seeking redressel of grievances concerning development in Pulwama,” he said, adding that it was in this context elections were held today for framing a committee for development of Pulwama.
He added that GF is founded by intellectuals of Pulwama in the name of his father, Syed Ghulam Rasool Gayoor Andrabi, who was killed in 2005 by unknown gunmen.
