RAK discusses issues with Divisional Commissioner

SRINAGAR: A meeting was held between Divisional Commissioner Kashmir and the office bearers of Restaurant and Café Association Kashmir (RAK) headed by its President Sheikh Feroz. The main focus of the meeting were the burning issues faced by this industry especially after Covid-19. The points which were raised were included. Soft Loans for renovations and purchase of consumables etc. to run the business again. Simplify license formalities so that the fraternity does not have to run from office to office. Waiver of dues like electricity charges, water charges, SMC charges and rentals on Government owned properties for a period of 2 years .Issuance of SOPs with all 7 days working so that we educate our workers and take proper care of our customers.
RAK has been very vocal about these problems from time to time.They had meetings with Director Tourism,Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Commissioner SMC,Director Industries and J&K Bank .Fumigation of restaurants was also done by SMC under the supervision of RAK President and other office bearers. A workshop was also conducted by Deputy commissioner srinagar on the request of RAK and 3OO covid tests were done to the employees of the restaurants.
The honourable Divisional commissioner gave a very patient hearing and showed very keen interest and eagerness to help this sector. The other office bearers present in the meeting were Babar Choudhary – Vice President, Sheikh Imran – Secretary General and Mohammad Irfan – Joint Secretary General.
President RAK thanked Chief Secretary , Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Deputy Commissioner Srinagar and President Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry for their support in this matter.
