Director Agriculture visits District Budgam to oversee preparedness for Kisan Pakhwada

Srinagar: Director Agriculture Kashmir on an extensive visit to District Budgam took stock of the preparedness for Kisan Pakhwada celebrations commencing from today and registration for Kisan Credit Card scheme which include Beerwah, Khag, Tosa Maidan, and Sitaharan.
Interacting with the officers, Director impressed upon them to make Pakhwada a grand success by covering 100% farmers including those engaged in Agriculture, Horticulture, Dairy, Fisheries, and Sheep rearing etc under Kisan Credit Scheme. He said in order to grow credit flow by 2.5 times this year all bottle necks should be removed for farmers in obtaining loans against KCC.
Andrabi said that during the campaign massive awareness regarding farmer welfare schemes like PM-Kisan, PM-Mandhan, Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojna (PMFBY), Minimum Support Price ( MSP), promoting use advanced seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, low cost production technologies, organic farming, integrated farming will be provided to the participating farmers.
Director said the thrust area during the campaign will be promoting latest agricultural implements and machinery, storage techniques, processing and marketing of produce, besides formation of Farmers Produce Organizations (FPOs), Farmer Interest Groups (FIGs) and Self Help Groups (SHGs).
Director was accompanied by Joint Director Agriculture Extension Chowdhary Mohammad Iqbal, Joint Director Inputs Amir ud Din Andrabi, District Agriculture Officer Extension Budgam and other concerned officers of the district during the visit.
