Separate Education Administrative Service a welcome step: JKTF

SRINAGAR: Trade Union leader and Chairman JK Teachers Forum M.Rafique Rather has hailed the government decision to constitute a committee to formulate modelties to introduce a separate Education Administrative Service in JK.
In a statement here Rather said that there is a tremendous human potential in department of education which need to be channelised for the betterment of education system.He said that like other departments a separate education administrative service is an urgent need to streamline the promotional avenues for intelligent, highly qualified and deserving teachers (all cadres) of the department which will usher a new era in the system.
Rather said that stagnation in promotions of teaching fraternity is telling upon the potential of our young teachers of all cadres and with the result there is a brain drain from the department whenever and wherever they get the opportunity and added that establishment of education administrative service will encourage them to stay back because they can avail the opportunity to get elevated to administrative posts by way of competitive exams within the department.
Rather said that “we feel happy to know that our long pending demand has been finally acceded to” Pertinent to mention that JK Teachers Forum through several representations had demanded a separate education administrative service of the promotional benefits of young, talented and highly qualified teaching personnel of the education department.
Rather urged upon the government that while establishing an administrative service, provision for promotion on the basis of seniority must continue although with a fixed quota.
Rather appreciated the role of Worthy Commissioner Secretary Education Dr Asgar Samoon sahb and DSEK/ DSEJ for their untiring efforts to streamline the system and assured them that JKTF will leave no stone unturned in getting their vision implemented on ground.
