Srinagar: Family members of Hurriyat (G) leader Ayaz Akbar Tuesday said that the health of jailed Hurriyat leader is worsening every day, appealing authorities to provide him proper medical aid.
Talking to a local news agency Kashmir News Service (KNS) over phone, the family of Akbar said he has been suffering from fever for the last two weeks and is not being properly treated by Tihar jail authorities.
Family said they are apprehensive about his health as the jail is packed with inmates and there is a threat of Covid-19 infection.
” The jail authorities are unmoved, he is suffering from fever and authorities have not taken his sample for Covid19 screening, they said adding that they are delaying tests due to unknown reasons.
They appealed to authorities to provide him with the best medical treatment.
