Body of missing trooper fished out from river Jhelum after five days

Baramulla: The body of a missing army personnel who went untraced last week in Boniyar area of Uri Baramulla, fished out from river Jhelum on Wednesday morning. Official sources in the police said that his dead body was fished out from river Jhelum near Boniyar village.
They said the army personnel had been missing for the past five days and a search operation was launched by army and police, in which they found his mobile phone and weapon on the river banks and it believed that personnel had slipped and drowned into the river. The deceased personal has been identified as Afsar Singh son of Surendra Singh of Bikna village in Bijnor district of Uttar Pradesh. He joined Indian army in 2016 and was attached with the army’s 5 Jat regiment. Police station Boniyar registered a case and further investigation is on.
