Srinagar: Islamic University of Science and Technology has decided to promote the students from the current odd semester to even semester on the basis of performance in the internal assessment, for the calculation of grades.
In a statement issued by the university it said that the decision was arrived during a high level meeting chaired by Vice Chancellor IUST, keeping in view the larger interest of the students.
The internal assessments for odd semester, after syllabus completion, shall be completed within the month of June through simplified modes and methods like Open Book Examination, Open Choices, assignment/ presentation-based assessments etc. It was also decided that the class work for next semester shall immediately be started / resumed, after the internal assessments are held, for which the schedule will be issued by concerned HoD.
Meanwhile the authorities have also decided that the practical courses, which couldn’t be completed online like some open electives, shall be adjusted in the following semester and completed after the restrictions are eased and campus teaching is resumed. Directorate of IT & SS of IUST shall provide guidance and support for MCQs examination, wherever needed by any department.
