Baramulla: Sopore police on Saturday evening claimed to have held three militant associates along with arms and ammunition.
In a statement police said that Sopore police along with army from 22 RR and 179 Bn CRPF in a joint operation at Shangergund on Sopore Kupwara road arrested three militant associates of LeT outfit.
They identify them as Mushtaq Ahmad Mir alis Lashkiri son of Abdul Gaffar Mir, Mudasir Ahmad Mir son of Mohammad Hamza Mir and Athar Shamas Mir son of Shams-u-din Mir all residents of Brath Kalan Sopore.
They said, that incriminating material, arms and ammunitions including one
UBGL Thrower, four UBGL Grenades, four magazines of AK 47 rifle with 137 rounds and other ammunition were recovered from their possession.
Police said that a case FIR number 125/2020 under section 7/25 arms act, 18, 23, 38 ULA (P) Act registered in police station Sopore against them and further investigation has been started.
