SKUAST-K Forestry dept organises special programme on COVID-19

Srinagar: Faculty of Forestry of the SK University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology, Kashmir (SKUAST-K) on Friday organised a special programme on ‘Quarantine, social stigma and COVID-19’ at its Beehama campus in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district.
Dr Abdul Majid, associate professor Psychiatry at SKIMS Medical College Srinagar who was the main speaker on the occasion, delivered a powerpoint presentation.
Students and teachers from schools and degree colleges across Kashmir participated in the programme.
The main aim of the talk show, which lasted for 45 minutes, was to educate people how to cope up with the stress caused by COVID-19.
Now that the lockdown was getting extending only, the participants at the programme were asked to learn ways to live with the pandemic.
Organiser of the event, Dr Naseem Geelani, who is an associate professor and HOD at the Division of Social and Basic Sciences, Faculty of Forestry, thanked Dr Majid for sparing his time for the event. He also thanked the students and teachers for turning up at the event.
Dr Geelani said the Faculty of Forestry will continue organising such events in future.
