Man injured, 5 sheep killed by leopards in separate incidents in Baramulla

Baramulla: A man was injured in an attack by a leopard in a Tangmarg village of Baramulla district on Sunday. Official sources said that a leopard entered into the Bato village Tangmarg on Sunday morning and attacked a person, however other villagers chase the leopard and shift the injured to hospital. The victim was identified as Manzoor Ahmad Bhat son of Khazir Mohammad Bhat. Meanwhile, on Sunday afternoon the reports said that a leopard barged into a flock of sheep in Posenag village of Pattan and killed five sheep on spot while few other were injured in the attack, the leopard was later chased by the villagers. The officials of the wildlife department reached both the places and are collecting the facts. “If needs we will install cages in the areas to catch the leopards” a senior official in the wildlife department told Kashmir Reader.
