Beerwah villages get electricity for 4 hours, seek intervention of LG

Srinagar: People from various villages of the Beerwah in Budgam have pressed for regular power supply in Ramadhan. They told the Kashmir Reader that they are receiving electricity only for four hours in 24 hours. “Since November 2019, the department is providing power supply for only 4 hours,” they said.

“Presently, we receive 2-3 hours of electricity during day and night time in the village,” Zameer Ahmad, a local resident from Chewdara village. Zahoor Ahmad Baba, another local resident said, “we are facing huge difficulties during the fasting as well as Sayari time, due to the nonavailability of the electricity in the village”. Locals said the district administration does not understand problems which people are facing without proper electricity especially in the month of Ramadan. They urged Lt. Governor GC Murmu and Chief Engineer of power development department to look into the matter so that they are provided proper electricity in the affected villages.
