One person found positive in Uri village, declared red zone

Baramulla: One person has been found Covid-19 positive in Basgram village in Uri and authorities on Thursday declared it red zone while as nearby hamlets have been declared as buffer zones. The people of the area have been asked to stay inside their homes and outsiders will not be allowed into the village. Earlier, Sultan Daki and Amok Colony had been already declared red zones for positive cases.

Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Uri, Dr Riyaz Ahmad Malik confirmed to Kashmir Reader that Basgram village has been declared red zone and teams of health department has been sent to the area as per the government protocol. Meanwhile, people quarantined at JNV Shahkote at Boniyar Uri has appealed administration to shift them to another building after test of one person came positive on Wednesday.

When asked about JNV Shahkote, Malik said that case was detected in the late Wednesday evening and on Thursday morning, we have shifted all the people to another building and work of sensitisation has been started in the area.
