Srinagar : Police on Thursday said they distributed food and essential commodities in Srinagar, Kupwara districts and Sopore. “Police also facilitated the distribution of food items in collaboration with NGO Murawat at Srinagar,” the statement said. “In Srinagar, police distributed food items to the destitute families at Shaheed Gunj and Shergarhi areas amid Covid-19 lockdown. Police teams from local police units reached to the needy people especially non-local residents and distributed essentials among them,” it reads. Srinagar police in Collaboration with NGO Murawat also facilitated distribution of food items in the jurisdiction of Police Station Karan Nagar, it said. It said, “In Kupwara, Police team from Police Station Sogam along with volunteers of Chandigam reached out to the needy people of Chandigam Lolab area and provided them food and other items. Officers from police unit Khurhama also provide food and other eatable items to the needy.” In Sopore, it reads, Police distributed food items among needy people especially non-locals by Police Station Tarzoo and Police Post Putkha in their respective areas
