10 people who travelled with first Corona patient return to quarantine again in Shopian

Shopian: People with travel history with Kashmir’s first positive Coronavirus patient have been sent to quarantine again on Thursday. Eleven people from Shopain have travelled with the first Corona case from Saudi Arabia last month. According to officials, ten people among them have been taken for quarantine again as eleventh of them were found positive. Dr Ruqaya, deputy chief medical officer Shopian told Kashmir Reader that one among the patients was found positive. “Following protocol, we took them to quarantine facilities as a precautionary measure,” she said. Dr Ruqaya added that family members of all these eleven travellers have been put under home quarantine and they are under close surveillance. Three positive cases were reported from the district so far. Chief medical officer Shopian, Dr Ramesh told Kashmir Reader that 140 have been put under hospital quarantine in the district while as 864 persons have been put under home quarantine. “All the ten travellers are asymptomatic. We have apprehensions they might have contacted with the positive case,” Dr Ramesh said.
