ANANTNAG: District Magistrate Anantnag, Bashir Ahmad Dar Saturday launched a drive for distribution of free ration to the migrant labourers presently putting up in Anantnag district in sync with the government directions and provisions of Disaster Management Act.
The district administration revealed that more than 2300 seasonal labourers from different states of the country are currently putting up in the district.
“District administration is providing ration to the registered consumers at their doorsteps as per protocol to avoid public gatherings and observe social distancing during collection and distribution of the essentials,” the statement said.
DM also renewed his appeal to the public to observe complete lockdown and not to venture out of their homes.
He urged people to support the administration in identifying the persons who have returned from COVID –19 affected countries or have come in contact with suspects and are avoiding compulsory quarantine.
