AWANTIPORA: Police in Awantipora on Monday registered a case against two persons including a female student for concealing travel history in Awantipora area of Pulwama district.
Police officer told Kashmir Reader that they received information from the magistrate that two persons in Awantipora area had reached home without informing the authorities about their travel history.
Police said that the booked persons were students and had recently returned to village Charsoo and village Goripora of Awantipora from Pakistan and Bangladesh. “ They concealed the travel history in order to evade necessary quarantine process.A case under FIR number 35/2020 under section 188,270,271 IPC has been registered against them at police station Awantipora,” police said,.
They have been sent to Entrepreneur Development Institute (EDI) Pampore to undergo necessary quarantine.
Police further said that action under the said FIR shall be initiated after their quarantine period is over.
Awantipora Police has appealed to the general public to cooperate with administration and police in this unprecedented situation and proactively disclose their travel history.
Meanwhile, the police requested people to inform Police Control Room Awantipora on phone number 01933247369/ 7051404001, if any person was found in their locality to have returned from outside Jammu and Kashmir.
