SRINAGAR: National Conference president and Member of Parliament from Srinagar Dr Farooq Abdullah on Sunday greeted the people on the annual observance of Shab-e- Meraj. Party President while greeting people said the night of Meraj marks the ascension of holy messenger of Allah Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) towards heavens. While extending my warm greetings to the people on the eve he hoped that the blessed night will act as the harbinger of peace, prosperity and tranquility in J&K. Party president has also appreciated the decision of J&K Waqaf Board pertaining to the suspension of congregational prayers on Shab-e-Meraj saying the measure will help save human lives and help curb the spread of the pandemic. Party’s additional general secretary Dr Sheikh Mustufa Kamal, Party’s members of parliament Muhammad Akbar Lone, Hasnain Masoodi have also extended greeting to people on the eve of Shab-e-Meraj asking them to take care of themselves by following Virus protocol.
