70 students who returned from outside country quarantined at JKEDI Pampore

PAMPORE: Around 70 students who returned from Bangladesh, USA and other countries have been quarantined at JKEDI building here at saffron town Pampore.
The authorities told Kashmir Reader that the students are under observation and they are monitoring them for any symptoms.
“If any of them shows higher body temperature for two consecutive days, they will be isolated and their samples will be sent for testing,” the authorities said.
Meanwhile, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Pandurang K Pole along with other officials on Saturday visited the quarantine site EDI and inspected arrangements made for them.
Earlier on Friday evening, Deputy Commissioner Pulwama Raghav Langer and Additional Deputy Commissioner Awantipora Zaffar Ahmad Shawl, Additional Deputy Commissioner Tral SA Raina and Tehsildar Pampore Ishtiyaq Mohi-ud-Din also visited the quarantine facility.
Authorities have also instructed Sub District Hospital (SDH) Pampore to suspend OPD from Saturday to avoid large crowds from visiting the hospital.
Only patients who need emergency care are admitted in the hospital in view of containing spread of corona virus, doctors at SDH said, adding they were asked to suspend OPD for patients with minor illness.
The doctors also said that they were short in PPE and other equipments but all of their staff members have been provided with them on Saturday.
