Div Com seeks report on airport corona breach

Srinagar: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir PK Pole on Friday said that he had asked the Deputy Commissioner Budgam to submit a detailed report about passengers from an international flight walking out of the Srinagar airport on Wednesday without screening or quarantine for coronavirus.
“I have asked the report and detailed factual position from DC Budgam about some travellers on an international flight escaping necessary screening and quarantine at Srinagar airport,” he told Kashmir Reader.
Kashmir Reader published a report on Friday which said that the first coronavirus positive patient from Kashmir escaped quarantine at Srinagar airport due to her influential relative.
The Divisional Commissioner also appealed to relatives and parents of the passengers, and to students studying outside the state, to cooperate with the divisional administration in preventing spread of coronavirus in Kashmir.
“We are taking extra precautions and ensuring that no traveller goes unchecked now. We have also doubled the manpower at the airport to screen the passengers. SRTC buses are available at the airport to ferry them to quarantine facilities at different places,” he said.
