Under construction drainage collapses in Hajin, DC says will enquire

HAJIN: An under construction drainage has collapsed in north Kashmir’s Hajin with people alleging authorities of using sub-standard material.
Talking to Kashmir Reader, a local Sajad Ahmad said, “We were surprised when we saw drain collapsed near the crossing. It is causing inconvenience to people.”
He alleged that it is because of sub-standard material used in the construction.
He claimed that officials never visited the site to assess the construction.
“This road connects Mohallah Bagat. Due to collapse, people have to be careful while passing through this road in the evening,” Ahmad said.
When contacted contractor Fayaz Ahmad who denied the allegations and said that the drainage has got collapsed because the heavy loaded trucks passing over it.
“The concrete slab was laid 5 days ago. But people drove heavy vehicles over it which might has caused the collapse,” he said, adding that he will repair the damaged spot within this week.
Deputy Commisisoner Bandipora assured that he will look into the matter.
