PHC Pampore holds awareness camp at railway station

PAMPORE: Primary Health Centre (PHC) Kakapora of Pampore on Wednesday held an awareness camp at a railway station here to raise awareness against spread of coronavirus. Medical Officer Public Health Centre (PHC) Kakapora Pulwama, Dr Mohammad Yousuf told Kashmir Reader that they have deputed a team of doctors and paramedics to the railway station to raise awareness among passengers. “Information on various precautionary measures which can help in containing spread of this infection is being given to passengers, railway staff, police,” he said, adding that people don’t need to panic. “We have to take precautions and bring some changes in our behaviour. We should ensure proper hand washing and cover mouth while coughing or sneezing,” he said, adding that everybody does not need to wear face masks. He said tha only an infected person needs the mask. Posters and banners on dos and don’ts of coronavirus have been posted here. Jahangir Ahmad, health educator PHC Kakapora told Kashmir Reader that they ensure that every passenger, especially non local citizens, are being reached with authentic information, knowledge and precautions about coronavirus. Meanwhile, Tehsildar Pampore Ishtiyaq Mohi-ud-Din held a meeting with Mosque Imams of various areas and urged them to play their role in creating awareness among people.
