Geelani stable, conscious, oriented: Dir SKIMS

SRINAGAR: Health of ailing senior resistance leader Syed Ali Geelani has shown improvement after he was treated upon by a group of doctors.
According to Director, SKIMS, Dr. A. G. Ahangar, the condition of senior political leader, Syed Ali Geelani is stable and he is conscious, cooperative and oriented.
A team of doctors is monitoring his condition, he said.
A doctor on the condition of anonymity said that Geelani;s health has been improving, but continues to suffer from chest infection.
“In fact, he is recovering and is better than before,” a senior doctor of SKIMS hospital said.
He said a team of doctors visited Geelani on Saturday to assess his condition.
“The patient is taking liquid diet and medicines prescribed by Dr Naveed from Chest Medicine of GMC Srinagar, “ the doctor said.
Last week, speculation of deteriorating health of Geelani was making rounds, throwing authorities on red-alert and snapping slow internet for a day.
Security forces have been deployed in strength outside Geelani’s Hyderpora residence to deal with any eventuality.
Geelani has a history of diseases ranging from kidney to heart to chest to eyes. He has been strictly following exercises and diet for many years, a main reason that keeps his heath improving.
