LPG crisis in Baramulla, people decry official apathy

BARAMULLA: LPG crisis has hit north Kashmir’s Baramulla from past half a month, with locals saying that gas agencies are refusing to provide them supplies.
Locals said that soon after the heavy snowfall, gas agencies stored the cylinders that led to crisis like situation.They said that as the government’s announcement that there is stock of gas cylinders available in the Kashmir valley, “then why general public is suffering?”.
They said that gas agencies are refusing to provide themsupplies. Riyaz Ahmad a local said that he has two gas cylinders and both are empty from past one week. “I visited gas agencies many times, but the supply is not available anywhere,” he said, adding that home delivery service is also stopped in Sheeri area due to non-availability of cylinders.
People appealed to the administration to check black marketing and lessen their woes.
