DSP arrest case: NIA conducts raids across south Kashmir

Shopian: National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Sunday conducted raids at several places in South Kashmir’s district Shopian and adjoining area along with contingent of police and army. The raids according to police sources were carried out in connection with recent arrest of senior police official, Devinder Singh and a militant commander Naveed Babu.
Locals from different area of district Shopian said that teams of army, police and NIA officials visited the homes of some militants including some slain mutants, aBJP worker and the driver and a militant who were arrested along with Singh.
A local from Maldair Village, where a hideout was busted a day after the arrest of Singh and Naveed were searched. Also searches were conducted at BJP worker Tariq Ahmad Mir’s home. According to reports searches were conducted at Adil Ahmad Pala’s home, he is an active militant from the village.
Locals from Zainpora said that NIA also visited the home of slain militant Adil Ahmad. Adil was an SPO and posted at residence of former MLA Wachi where he decamped with seven rifles and a pistol and later joined the militant ranks. He was killed along with two associates last month at Wachi village of the district.
The raids according to sources were also conducted at native village of Naveed Babu, Nazneenpora, Manihal-Batpora at Rafi Ahmad Rather’s home, a militant who was arrested along with Naveed.
Later the searches were later conducted at Ganowpora at home of Asiq Ahmad Magray, an active militant and Dairoo village in connection Muhammad Rafi Mir a lawyer who was also arrested along with Naveed.
Earlier NIA also raided the home of arrested DSP.
