SRINAGAR: The end of 40-day harshest winter period, Chillai Kalan, has led to significant improvement in weather conditions with significant improvement in day and night temperatures across the Kashmir Valley.
“Weather will mostly remain pleasant and dry for the upcoming week with significant rise in day temperature, while there will be no change in night temperature, barring few isolated places,” said Director Metrological Department Sonum Lotus.
The 40-day period of intense chillai Kalan during which temperature swelled to sub zero level with heavy bouts of snowfall this year ended on January 30. Since then there is an improvement in weather condition.
